I had a great time photographing this adorable five month old baby girl. Little Payton did an amazing job, even trying to sit (balance) all on her own! :) I loved her beautiful eyes, and her smile was so heartwarming.

Our cat Lester is already tired of having his pictures taken. So, I was pretty happy to get together with two new pet models for a photo-shoot. Meet Juliet and Bella, aren’t they cute? For sure they loved to be in the middle of the attention. ;)
Yesterday I had the opportunity to capture the first of the Blue Orchid Studio charity shopping party in Yorkville. I had an amazing time meeting all those ladies who were invited for Sunday brunch and the “before hours” shopping. As I was walking around with my camera, I couldn’t help but notice the friendly atmosphere. The shop was full of conversation, laughter, food and music. It was so much fun to be a part of this special event.
After making all those mental notes about what I have to put on my next shopping list, I ended up joining the youngest shoppers. Thanks girls, I had a blast capturing your images!
If you are interested in one of the next shopping parties… Stop in at Blue Orchid Studio, fill out a slip with your information, drop it in the jar and hope your name gets picked. If it does, you’ll have an option either an “after hours” shopping party or Sunday Brunch for you and at least five of your friends.
PS. On a side note… the biggest seller was the “Ugly Dolls” (of course)! :)
This week my friend Barbara visited us with her boyfriend Keith. It was a special occasion as it was her birthday. Just before the celebration we managed to get a few shots. We didn’t spend too much time shooting because Keith hurt his back just the day before, but he was a good sport about it. Hope you are feeling better!

Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather we are having in April! As you can see from the pictures, we let our indoor cat Lester enjoy some fresh air too. He is so curious and always trying to escape outside. For sure he is getting more adventurous, and it looks like he doesn’t want to stay by the house anymore. Last time he ran away from Erich into the woods, but luckily Erich got him. :)

And here testing my new macro lens. Yeah! I’m so excited to take some new macro shots since the weather is so beautiful. I can’t wait to use it on some newborn fingers and toes too ;)

I love shopping for my family and friends, but sometimes it is hard to find the perfect gift. You can imagine how happy I was when I found this boutique shop – Blue Orchid Studio, located in Yorkville.
This is really the place to shop if you are looking to buy a gift for any occasion (birthday, wedding, baby shower, just because) and with Mother’s day around the corner, it’s the perfect spot to visit! You are going to find a big selection of unique gifts such as contemporary apparel & accessories, home decoration, luxury bath products, baby items, handcrafted goods, etc. It’s cute and rustic, but in a hip, refreshing way.
I talked to the owner, Leslie, and she was so friendly and helpful. We talked at length about the adventures of the business world. I wanted to take some pictures of her place, to showcase how charming her shop is. It’s hard to capture the true soul and magnetism of such a magical place, but I thought I’d give it a shot… or take a few shots of her place anyway. By the way, some of my favorite’s are aromatherapy Lumiere candles (I got the cucumber melon), hand-made jewelry, artistic photo albums, picture frames and not to forget all the cute baby items. I also purchased a few photography props – flower headbands – and can’t wait to use them again. Shopping there is really a treat. I kept getting drawn into every interesting corner with the great selection of items, and the charming atmosphere of the place.
